According to today’s Telegraph, the Stalinist leader of North Korea, Kim Jong-il has a fleet of luxury trains and stations that ferry him around North Korea and his infrequent trips to friendly countries – China.
He is, apparently, not a frequent flyer, so his trains have to make up for the lack of airmiles in the luxury stakes.
According to The Telegraph, quoting intelligence sources, ‘The trains are equipped with conference rooms, bedrooms and high-tech communication facilities.
‘There are also 19 stations across North Korea exclusively for Kim’s trains, which have a total of 90 carriages. Kim uses the trains when he makes inspection visits to local army units and factories or travels abroad.’
North Korea’s dictatorial luxury travel revelations come as a UN report estimates that a minimum of 8 million people are facing food shortages as a result of the regime’s “callous” disregard for North Korea’s citizens.
